Our May meeting will focus on Studio Portrait photography.
We will again meet at Studio 404 where we will have a 40-minute studio portrait demonstration by a Studio 404 photographer. They will be setting up two portrait set-ups, one for full-length portraits, and the other for head and shoulder shots.
After the demonstration, we will be able to practice on our own using the two portrait set-ups including the studio lighting, backdrops etc for the rest of the meeting.

If you have an outfit or prop you would like to photograph, please feel free to bring it along.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at Studio 404 from 7 to 9pm.

Guild Meeting Wednesday April 16, 2014

Guelph Photographers Guild

Wednesday, April 16, 2014
General Meeting
Dublin Street United Church
7:00-9:00 PM

This evening's meeting is a very special evening on a couple accounts.  First of all, we will be celebrating the Guild's 5th anniversary.  The Guild was formed in 2009 and I believe that the first meeting was held in May of that year. There will be a birthday cake for this special occasion.

Secondly, this evening is the Annual General Meeting.  This is when the new executive is formed.  Of the seven positions on the executive, four will be filled so far.  The executive meets on the first Wednesday of the month.  These meetings are normally one to one and a half hours long.  If you haven't already notified me that you will volunteer to be on the executive, please email me to let me know that you want to be part of the executive.  Positions that still have to be filled are Secretary,  Member-at-large, and Program Chair.

Without an executive, the Guild will cease to exist.

The third part of the evening will consist of a presentation by Eli Garrow.  The presentation will be about Angels of the Underground.

Born out of curiosity and the need to explore the hidden world that exists within our known environment.
The Angels of the Underground have been exploring and photographing these hidden spaces over the past 15 years, unveiling their beauty normally wrapped in a cloak of darkness.
