Liquid Collision

Our general meeting took place on Wednesday November 19.  We met at Dublin Street United Church 7:00 to 9:00. Our presenter was Rafal Kiermacz. His presentation is entitled "Liquid Collision"

He will be providing a demo of capturing a collision between two water drops.  His goal is to provide a demonstration together with an explanation about how he is able to repeatedly and accurately capture something that takes approximately 100 milliseconds to occur.  He  plans to demonstrate how using technology allows us to create an art piece, otherwise unachievable with traditional photography equipment.

Raymond Barlow Guest Presenter October 15 --- Tanzania

The Guelph Photographers Guild will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, October 15. Our guest presenter will be Raymond Barlow. His presentation will centre on the theme of Tanzania. His presention will look at the visit from a photography point of view, lenses, cameras, opportunities, processing images, travel with gear and precautions.

The 7 p.m. October event takes place at Dublin Street United Church, 68 Suffolk St. W.

Aberfoyle Antique Market

On Saturday, September 20, 2014 the Guild's first outing will take place at the Aberfoyle Antique Market.  The market will be open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The cost will be $5.00.  There will be extra vendors on this day.  There will be a wealth of photographic opportunities.

Flash Photography with Michael Willems September 17, 2014

On Wednesday, September 17, Michael Willems will be our guest presenter.  His topic will be on flash photography.  The Guild meets at Dublin Street United Church at 7:00 PM.

Michael, The Speedlighter, is one of North America’s premier teachers of photography. He teaches across the continent and talks to, trains and motivates large numbers of people.

A full-time photographer and photography teacher, based in Oakville, Ontario, he wrote and teaches the popular “Travel Photography”, “Travel 101″, “Flash for Pros”, “Event Photography” and “Flash – Get Out and Shoot” workshops, among others, and is finishing a book, due out very soon. He exhibits regularly and has been featured on CBC Radio and in other media. He teaches photography subjects both privately and at Sheridan College.

American Civil War Historical Re-enactment August 23 and August 24 at Milton's Country Heritage Park

The American Civil War Historical Re-enactment Society And Milton’s Country Heritage Park
Proudly Present: Closing the Circle, Petersburg, 1864

The event will depict the actions of the Union army completing the circle around Petersburg. Cavalry raids, tracing field works, manufacturing siege equipment and construction of rifle pits will be an ongoing display.

Here is a great opportunity for Guild members to capture the action of the Civil War.

Gates open at 10:00 AM.

On Saturday each army will conduct a formal  parade near their camp at 11:00 AM.

Most of the buildings at the Heritage Park will be open.

The cost for Adults is $10 and children 12 and under are free.

Festival Italiano July 11, 12, and 13

The annual Festival Italiano will take place on July 11, 12 and 13 at the Italian Canadian Club Guelph, 135 Ferguson Street.

There will be an opportunity for some great photos on Sunday.  At 1:00 PM the Adult Cheese Roll will begin.  At 4:00 PM the men and women's Barzotti Woodworking Greased Poll Climb will start.

The Orangeville RAM Rodeo Weekend

Tour de Guelph 2014

Today was the first annual bicycle ride.  It was hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium. It was in support of the Guelph General Hospital.
It was in memory of George Vettor.

Faery Fest Saturday, June 21 Guild Outing

Our outing for June is to take in Faery Fest. The location of Faery Fest has changed from Riverside Park to Marden Park. It is open between 11 am to 6 pm.
